Dr. Rebecca R. Westwick
Welcome to my website! My research focuses on how many different kinds of factors—from nutrition and sex to social experiences and the microbiome—work together to shape animal behaviors and health outcomes. I study these questions in two non-model insect systems, the European honey bee (Apis melllifera) and the bull-headed dung beetle (Onthophagus taurus). See my "About Me" section to learn about how I got where I am today and check out the "Current Research" tab for a description of all of my current (unpublished) projects.

I am passionate about performing high-quality animal behavior research as well as supporting young scientists through teaching in the classroom and mentorship in the lab and field. I am currently looking for permanent faculty positions to pursue these interests. Please reach out to me if you think I may be a good fit for an open position you know of.
